Massacre at Cantham House

The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

In 19 BBY,^[2] a massacre took place outside of Cantham House, the official residency of Senator Bail Prestor Organa of Alderaan on Coruscant.^[1]

Following the attack on the Executive Center and Organa's sponsorship of the Imperial Rebirth Act, the Alderaanian senator and the Queen of Alderaan Breha Organa retreated to Cantham House. A group of protesters gathered outside, battering at doors and windows, demanding his arrest for treason against the Galactic Empire and issuing death threats against the couple.

House security lowered blast plates, which secured the entrance. The protesters continued through daybreak, and the senators repeated calls to the police were ignored. At this point, a gunship approached Cantham House, manned by three clone troopers pointing their weapons downward, and led by a Tarsunt admiral who was a friend of Bail Organa. The admiral ordered the troopers to fire at the crowd, and most of the mob managed to flee the scene.

Behind the scenes

The massacre at Cantham House was mentioned in the 2025 novel Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, written by Alexander Freed as the first installment of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy.^[1]
