A male individual worked as an advocate during the High Republic Era.[2] Around 228 BBY,[1] the man was assigned to serve as advocate to Marchion Ro—an Evereni man who had served as leader of the Nihil marauders—during his trial on[2] the Core Worlds[3] planet Coruscant. When the advocate met with Ro in a private and sealed chamber for the first time, he was killed despite the fact that the Evereni was chained to a wall several meters away from the advocate at that point.[2]

Later, Ro's trial went ahead and he did not have an advocate, as two others turned down the opportunity following the first's passing. As former Nihil Minister of Information Ghirra Starros attended the trial, she mentally recalled the advocate's passing, noting it was not known how the Evereni could have killed the man, but it was assumed he had.[2]

Behind the scenes

Marchion Ro's advocate was mentioned in the 2025 novel The High Republic: Trials of the Jedi, written by Charles Soule as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase III.[4]

Notes and references

  1. 1.0 1.1 The High Republic: Trials of the Jedi establishes the mission to Planet X begins concurrent to the Battle of Eriadu—which takes place in 228 BBY per the reasoning here—and concludes shortly after the battle's own ending. The chapter mentioning Marchion Ro's advocate is set weeks after the mission's ending, therefore meaning it must take place around 228 BBY. As the advocate's death occurred between the end of the mission and the chapter, his passing must have take place around 228 BBY.
