For other uses, see Manax.

Manax mead was a type of mead that was potable[1] by Evereni.[2] During the conflict the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic were waging against the Nihil marauders during the High Republic Era,[1] the Colonies[3] planet Cato Neimoidia began to hedge its bets despite Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh's statements of a unified Republic and sent an entire cryovat of Manax mead with compliments to[1] the Evereni[2] man Marchion Ro, who served as Eye of the Nihil.[1]

In 228 BBY,[4] as Ro feasted aboard his[1] flagship,[3] the Gaze Electric, he mentally recalled being sent the mead by Cato Neimoidia, noting the planet had cowardly acted to win his mercy by sending the beverage. After noting he would eventually eradicate Cato Neimoidia anyway, Ro began observing the spread of the affliction known as the blight on[1] the Mid Rim[3] planet Kashyyyk and noticed one of his scientistsDoctor Zadina Mkampa—was there. While considering why she would be there, Ro took a deep quaff of the mead.[1]

  4. Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 16, which features the Stormwall going down, takes place one year and a few months after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. The events of The High Republic: Tears of the Nameless also take place in 228 BBY per the reasoning here. As The High Republic: Into the Light states its events occur after the events of Tears of the Nameless and before the Stormwall goes down, they must also take place in that year.
