Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the malia was mentioned in The Odyssey of Star Wars: An Epic Poem, a 2021 adaptation of the original trilogy by Jack Mitchell.[1] The creatures originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in Jude Watson's 2001 young readers novel Jedi Apprentice: The Ties That Bind.[2]
