Lucasfilm Games is a division of Lucasfilm dedicated to providing support to partners video game publishers and developers.[1]
History
Lucasfilm Games was unveiled on January 11, 2021 on StarWars.com,[1] quickly followed with the announcement of an Indiana Jones game on January 12,[3] and a Star Wars game, from Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft, on January 13.[4] Before this, the division was mentioned in the credits of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Onslaught[5], released on October 22, 2019,[6] in an interview for Star Wars Insider 193 regarding Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,[7] published on October 30,[8] and in a SWTOR.com article published on December 20.[9]
On February 17, 2021, Lucasfilm Games and Zynga announced Star Wars: Hunters.[10] Developed since 2018 by NaturalMotion,[11] the game was planned to be released in late 2021.[12] On December 9, 2021, a trailer was released during The Game Awards 2021 to announce Star Wars Eclipse by Quantic Dream.[13]
On January 25, 2022, it was revealed that three new Electronic Arts projects were under development at Respawn Entertainment: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Wars Zero Company A few months later, on April 19, 2022, it was announced that Skydance New Media, under the leadership of Amy Hennig, was working yet another title.[14]
