The Locans were a sentient species of near-Humans that shared its name with[1] the Wild Space[2] celestial body Loce. They had pointed ears, prominent incisor teeth, and distinctive light purplish-blue skin. One Locan, Talas Piran, had a thick body frame and a heavy build with large arms the skin on which was black and mottled. Piran had short black hair. Locans identified as belonging to at least one—male—gender.[1]
At some point by 2 BBY,[3] the young Locan Talas Piran was captured by enslavers and taken from his homeworld of Loce. He was then sold to a Galactic Empire–sanctioned company for which he was forced to log trees on[1] the Outer Rim Territories[4] world Hintivan II. Years later, Piran bought his freedom and became an enslaver himself, joining the Mytaranor Slaving Council, which operated in[1] the Mid Rim's[5] Mytaranor sector and elsewhere, and eventually becoming the organization's leader.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Locans were mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. In the book, the Locan Talas Piran was illustrated by Christina Wald.[1]
