Hintivan II was a cold, heavily forested world that occupied the second orbital position[4] in the Hintivan system, a part of the Corva sector[1] in the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was home to large trees.[4]
During the early years of the Galactic Civil War,[5] which began in 2 BBY,[6] Hintivan II was controlled by the Galactic Empire.[5] An Imperial-sanctioned company that utilized enslaved labor carried out logging operations there, handing out early-model suits of Imperial snowtrooper armor to its workers to protect them from the low temperatures and hazardous conditions of their work.[4] At some point by 2 BBY,[7] enslavers sold the Locan Talas Piran from[4] the Wild Space[8] celestial body Loce to the company on Hintivan II. There, Piran and his work gang were forced to cut down trees utilizing only vibro-axes. After long years of work,[4] at one point by 0 ABY,[7] the Locan managed to buy his freedom and ultimately became an off-world enslaver himself.[4]
Behind the scenes
Hintivan II was mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently placed the Hintivan system, and therefore Hintivan II, in grid square Q-3.[3]
