A lateral thruster was a type of starship engine. Lateral thrusters were responsible for governing a vessel's maneuverability, and damage to the thrusters affected a ship's ability to evade enemies in combat.[1] Tiree's BTL-A4 Y-wing, designated Gold 2, had custom high-power lateral thrusters that gave the starfighter enhanced maneuverability to evade and draw enemy fire.[2]
