Kuroma was a member of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate that operated as an undercover Imperial officer[1] in 3 ABY.[2] That year, he was entrusted with one of at least three keycards that could open up a vault used by Crimson Dawn in the Crimson Dawn district of Kijimi City on the Mid Rim planet Kijimi. Kuroma stored his keycard in a courtyard behind a locked door within the Thieves' Quarter of Kijimi City.[1]

In 3 ABY,[2] the thief Kay Vess accessed a terminal near the sealed vault and learned about Kuroma's keycard, as well as its approximate location. After using her Slicing unit to unlock the door to the courtyard, Vess stole Kuroma's keycard and later used it and two other keycards to access into the vault and stole 5000 credits, a Target Audit sabacc Shift Token and the materials required to apply a "Crimson Reign" paint scheme to an EML-850 light freighter.[1]
