Slicing units,[1] also known as hijack units[2] or slicing kits,[3] were technology used by slicers to take control of technology. Doctor Chelli Aphra planted several slicing units on Rebel Alliance technology, including the protocol droid Teezee-Too.[1] She later used one of her slicing units that Teezee-Too had missed to take control of the droid, allowing Aphra to give Teezee-Too orders.[2] Aphra later used another slicing unit to control a cam droid and broadcast the plans of Minister Pitina Voor to the galaxy.[3]

Slicing unit first appeared in the thirty-third issue of the comic book series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, which was written by Simon Spurrier, illustrated by Wilton Santos, Caspar Wijngaard, and Andrea Broccardo,[1] and published by Marvel Comics on June 19, 2019.[4] The device later received various identifications, including "hijack unit" in the thirty-fourth issue[2] and "slicing kit" in the thirty-sixth issue of the same run.[3]
