The Korfo system was situated in the Arrowhead, the Slice portion of the Core Worlds. It was located on the Commenor Run hyperlane, which connected it to the Cirius and Tepasi systems.[1] The star system contained the astronomical object Korfo II.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Korfo system was first mentioned in "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are," a 1990 roleplaying game source article published in the thirteenth issue of the Voyages SF magazine/ The article placed the system in the "Imperial Core" sector. Since that article was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process,[3] it was considered non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[4] The canonical existence of the Korfo system was subsequently established by the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which placed it in grid square M-9.[1]

Lucasfilm treats material from the various unlicensed roleplaying game magazines as non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity, with the only exceptions being the existence of those worlds and star systems that are referenced in The Essential Atlas and its StarWars.com Online Companion, and any other details that were referenced in, and thus canonized by, an official source.
