- "Ten credits. Ten. We're all getting paid enough that we can probably split a steaming kofta-bun or all buy four bottles of jogan juice. Small bottles. We'll be richer than in our wildest dreams. Provided that our wildest dreams have us living in total destitution."
- ―Sinjir Rath Velus, to his colleagues
Kofta-buns were a type of bread edible by humans and Zabraks that could be served steamed.[1] The buns partially shared their name with emerald kofta-grouse birds.[2] In 5 ABY,[3] New Republic pilot Norra Wexley decided to continue her search for Princess Leia Organa's missing husband, the smuggler Han Solo, and resigned her military commission to do so. Wexley's colleague Sinjir Rath Velus joked about their economic prospects due to their group no longer working for the New Republic, indicating that their minimal pay of ten credits for finding Solo for Organa would be enough for them to share the cost of a steaming kofta-bun.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kofta-buns were mentioned in Aftermath: Life Debt, a 2016 novel written by Chuck Wendig as the second installment in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.[1]
