Kivo-Base was a section of the Separatist droid factory on the Outer Rim planet Akiva that was converted to a base for the Alliance to Restore the Republic[1] by 3 ABY.[2] The base consisted of large circular room, used as a hanger for X-wing starfighters and a room with a large holoprojector as well as a number of side rooms.[1] In the 3 ABY,[2] Asara Deyn, Dennion and Thia Huplo were stationed at the base. During that same year, a group of rebels including Deyn encounter Kay Vess, Gedeek Obaz and ND-5 in a tunnel leading to the base while the group was looking for a compound regulator compatible with ND-5's damaged power core. Deyn agreed to help the group find the regulator is Vess would help them rescue a number of rebels from the Hutt Cartel before they were sold to the Galactic Empire. After agreeing to help, Gedeek hooked ND-5 up to the base's power and Vess left the base through an old service elevator. Vess returned to the base after successfully rescuing the rebels in time to help Gedeek install a new regulator into ND-5. Later the same year, while aboard the Star Destroyer Revelator, Jaylen Vrax sold the location of the base to the Empire. The destroyer then traveled to Akiva in order to bombard the base from orbit. However before the destroyer began it's bombardment, Deyn managed to contact Dennion at the base and warn them about the attack while aboard the Trailblazer, Vess's EML-850 light freighter. The rebels launched their fighters from the base with along with Vess and her syndicate allies managed to destroy the Revelator thus protecting the base.
Behind the scenes
Kivo-Base first appeared in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The base was identified by the game's map as simply "Rebel hideout" however during the game's main quest "Revelator" it is identified as Kivo-Base by Asara Deyn and the game's subtitles. The location itself is only accessible during "the legacy" main quest[1]
