Keldabe kiss was a Mandalorian term[1] for a headbutt.[2] It shared its name with Keldabe, former capital city of the planet Mandalore.[3] In 22 BBY,[4] Jango Fett performed a headbutt on the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, during their fight on the watery world of Kamino.[5] Nam Beroya said that he had headbutts that hurt more than torture.[1]
Behind the scenes
Keldabe kiss first appeared in the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[2] It was first identified in the new Star Wars canon in Friends Like These, a 2016 adventure supplement for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Keldabe kiss, a slang term for the kov'nyn in Mando'a, or headbutt, was first introduced in the Republic Commando novel Order 66, written by author Karen Traviss and published September 16, 2008.[6]
