Keekon root was a type of root that the Tholothian species could consume to help them sleep. While on the swamp planet Safrifa[1] in 231 BBY,[2] the mercenary Ty Yorrick rescued the son of a marsh-lord, executing a violent extraction endeavor to complete the job. Afterward, even though she used keekon root to help her sleep, the screams from the day's event lingered in her mind.[1]
Behind the scenes
Keekon root was mentioned in the novel The High Republic: The Rising Storm, written by Cavan Scott[1] for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I and published on June 29, 2021.[3] Prior to its release, a mention of the root was included in a StarWars.com preview for the novel on April 22 of that year.[4]
