Kattadan rosé was a wine potable by humans, on whom it had an intoxicating effect.[1] It shared its name with the Colonies astronomical object Kattada.[2]
At the dedication of the space station Starlight Beacon[1] in 232 BBY,[3] Jedi Master Elzar Mann drank too many glasses of the rosé after receiving a disturbing Force vision, leading to him being openly affectionate with fellow Master Avar Kriss when the two danced together, which in turn resulted in a rift forming between them. Mann dwelled on the incident for several months while trying to find an answer to the visions.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kattadan rosé was mentioned in the novel The High Republic: The Rising Storm, written by Cavan Scott for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I[4] and published on June 29, 2021. An excerpt of the novel published on StarWars.com on May 7 of that year included the mention of the rosé.[5]
