Katarns were dangerous[3] and deadly[1] predators[3] that were native to the planet Kashyyyk,[1] where they prowled the deeper, lightless levels of the world's complex vertical ecosystem.[2] The imposing Katarn-class Commando Armor worn by clone commandos of the Grand Army of the Republic, was named for the deadly creatures, and the armor's capabilities lived up to the name.[1]
