- "Did you know, Fenbolt, that the trusk is a style of music that was once performed exclusively in the dingiest of establishments and at pitches so high that only the Karvathians could hear it?"
- ―Cli Pastayra
Karvathians were a sentient species[1] from[2] the Karvathia system[3] that could hear high-pitched sounds. They created the music style trusk, which, during the time of the Old Republic, was originally performed in dingy establishments at pitches that only members of the species could hear.[1]
In 3 BBY,[4] a Karvathian trusk septet played at an auction on[1] the planet[5] Cantonica organized by Cli Pastayra of the Wandering Star criminal syndicate. During the auction, Pastayra remarked about the history of Karviathians and the trusk to his droid Fenbolt. The species also shared its name with the Karvathian sequined tarp, one of which was found[1] in 7 ABY[4] on Frander's Bay, a space station orbiting the planet Chandrila.[1]
Behind the scenes
Karvathians first appeared in Last Shot, a 2018 novel written by Daniel José Older.[1]

This article treats the Karvathia system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Karvathian species.
