- "What…planet is this?"
"That…that was Karolia. A densely forested planet in the Belderone system. We…we didn't know." - ―Sabé and Aira
Karolia was a densely forested planet located in the Belderone system[3] of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] During the reign of the Galactic Empire,[3] Tauntaza,[5] the Imperial governor of the planet Gabredor III developed a piece of technology that drained the power from living things. At some point, it was used on Karolia which left Doctor Aira sad about the outcome.[3] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[6] the Sith Lord Darth Vader and Commander Sabé attempted to track the governor[3] after she began to use the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate to consolidate her power.[7] The pair confronted the governor in a science colony on Gabredor III, where she had moved her technology for extraction but she escaped with the help of Crimson Dawn. After the governor escaped, Aira informed Sabé and Vader of the technology and what it did. The doctor then displayed a hologram of Karolia to show the technology's effects.[3]
