Kappa Nine was the callsign of a TIE fighter pilot of the Galactic Empire's Starfighter Corps. One pilot who served as Kappa Nine flew a TIE fighter as a scout to investigate missing Imperial shuttles. The patrol encountered the Star Destroyer Harbinger, which had been hijacked by the Rebel Alliance. Kappa Nine's partner was destroyed, and the pilot attempted to communicate with the Harbinger, but was also destroyed by the rebels.[1]
