Kalaks were nimble, quadrupedal animals native to the planet Roon.[1] They were known for their fast overland traveling speeds,[2] reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour unladen at full gallop,[3] making them common choices as mounts for messengers carrying information or goods. Kalaks had many prominent teeth[2] protruding at odd angles from their jaws that allowed to to eat low-lying tree leaves[3] by stripping them from low branches,[1] though they could be used defensively to tear flesh from aggressors.[2]
