- "Is that what got the Juliupper?"
"Bug things." - ―An individual and the Millennium Falcon's Han Solo, on the Juliupper's destruction
The Juliupper was a shuttle equipped with ion drives and a titanium-alloy hull.[1] In 25 ABY,[2] it was one of several starships that attempted to evacuate the residents of the[1] Outer Rim Territories[3] planet Sernpidal, which was located in the Julevian system, while the planet was destroyed by the Yuuzhan Vong species by pulling Sernpidal's moon Dobido into the planet.[1]
Several Yuuzhan Vong grutchins, insectoid creatures that tore through starships, attacked the Juliupper over Sernpidal, boring through the vessel's hull and attacking its ion engines. After the shuttle's pilot called for assistance, the[1] YT-1300 light freighter[4] Millennium Falcon moved to assist, killing one of the attacking grutchins with its laser cannons; however, the creatures destroyed the Juliupper.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Juliupper first appeared in the 1999 novel Vector Prime, written by R. A. Salvatore as the first volume in the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order novel series.[1]
