"One of my drone-mates once gave me an excuse, listing the reasons they couldn't protect the queen when our nest was attacked by hueches. Do you know what I did? […] I ripped off their head and feasted on their ganglia. […] They were delicious."
―Jinnix[2]

A Colicoid drone-mate of the Colicoid Jinnix lived during the High Republic Era.[2] By 252 BBY,[1] the carnivorous hueche attacked their nest, and the drone-mate failed to protect the queen. When the drone-mate explained the reasons they could not protect the queen to Jinnix, he ripped off their head and ate their ganglia. According to Jinnix, his drone-mate was delicious. During a Nihil raid, Jinnix—now a Nihil Storm in the Nihil pirates—recounted eating his drone-mate to his Strike, Towl, when Towl made excuses for not following an order.[2]

Behind the scenes

Jinnix's drone-mate was mentioned in a flashback sequence in the 2021 audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Runner, written by Cavan Scott as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase I.[3]

Notes and references

  1. 1.0 1.1 Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of The High Republic: Tempest Runner to 231 BBY. Star Wars: Timelines establishes that Asgar Ro became Eye of the Nihil in 252 BBY and The High Republic: Eye of the Storm 1 depicts Lourna Dee as a member of the Nihil at this point. As Tempest Runner establishes that Dee joined the Nihil after the raid in the Abrion sector, the raid must have taken place by 252 BBY. The audio drama further states that the hueche attack and subsequent death of Jinnix's drone-mate occurred before the Abrion sector raid, therefore meaning it also took place by 252 BBY.
