Jilo Del

Jilo Del was a Duros male who was a mercenary captain of the Sith Empire during the Third Galactic War against the Galactic Republic, where he was the founder and leader of Krallet Division.^[1]

Biography

At some point during the Third Galactic War, Del was hired by Imperial Admiral Hyshiri to eradicate an entire colony and leave no survivors or witnesses, which he did without question. But after completing his mission, Hyshiri revealed that she had ordered the colony's eradication because her sister, who had been planning on defecting to the Galactic Republic, had been hiding in it. In an attempt to sever all ties with the defector, Hyshiri betrayed Del and turned him over to the Imperial Army. After being interrogated by Major Acota into revealing Hyshiri's involvement, Acota had Del indentured into the Army and offered him great compensation and free rein in order to found a mercenary unit to be used as a hit squad by the Empire to be utilized and disavowed at their pleasure. Del accepted, and jokingly taking on the title of captain, he founded the unit that he would name Krallet Division. Krallet Division would come to be known for committing some of the worst atrocities during the War.^[2][3]

Del was constantly at odds with Qrukk, one of his subordinates in Krallet Division. While Del was indiscriminate in his slaughter of soldiers and civilians, Qrukk preferred purpose and tasks that strengthened the Empire. At one point, Qrukk plotted to oust Del and succeed him as leader of Krallet Division, but he was betrayed by an undercover subordinate who hoped for a promotion by revealing Qrukk's intents to her master, Dark Councilor Darth Xarion of the Sphere of Galactic Influence.^[4]

Del and Krallet Division would go on to participate in the Invasion of Manaan, where they would wind up murdering the mother of Selkath Captain Wo Kasto near the start of the conflict. This would later prove to be his undoing when he walked into a trap set by Kasto in the Temple of the Progenitor, where he was defeated and the rest of Krallet Division was killed by the Alliance Commander. In an attempt to save himself, Del offered to defect to the Republic.^[1]

Behind the scenes

Jilo Del appeared in the Legacy of the Sith expansion of Star Wars: The Old Republic as the final boss for the Republic bonus series on Manaan in the mission, "Retribution in the Rift." After he is defeated, the player can choose to either accept his surrender or kill him on the spot.^[1]
