Jexxel cats were a type of feline that lived in the caves that riddled the mountains of the frigid Outer Rim planet Gigor. The cats shared the caves with snow shredder bats and sentient Gigorans, with edible molds and mushrooms thriving deep inside due to the presence of hot springs.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, jexxel cats were mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a 2018 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying system produced by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity the creatures were known simply as "jexxels" and were first mentioned and pictured in Wretched Hives of Scum & Villainy, a 1997 supplement written by Paul Danner for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The image of jexxels in the book was illustrated by Jacen Burrows.[2]
