Jenny was a Human female[1] who was a frequent patron of Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina[3] in the spaceport city Mos Eisley on the Outer Rim planet Tatooine[4] at the height of the Galactic Empire. While there, she attempted to find romance with a good-looking pilot.[3] In 0 BBY,[5] Jenny visited the cantina and flirted[4] and made out[1] with the smuggler Han Solo as he waited on news from the fellow smuggler Taggart about a cargo of glitterstim spice.[4]
Behind the scenes
Jenny as seen in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope
Jenny was named after the actress who portrayed her in A New Hope, Jenny Cresswell. Her character was intended to be seen flirting with Han Solo, but their scene together didn't make the final cut of the film. She can still be seen talking to a Rodian in the Mos Eisley Cantina in widescreen releases of the film (for example, at the far left of the shot at 45:05 of the Special Edition DVD).[2]
In the novelization of the film, Han's companion is a humanoid woman described as having "a wide, if inhuman, grin."[6]
