The Jannimak was a technologically advanced research vessel that crashed on the planet Dantooine[3] at some point around 3622 BBY.[2] The research vessel used for a project to study and acclimatize different lifeforms from many worlds including creatures, plants, and microorganisms. Doctor Rotkar, the vessel's creator, was proud of the success of the project.[1]
After the mysterious crash of the vessel, a large area of unoccupied farmland on Dantooine became overrun with invasive species. The ship's systems designed to accommodate the creatures and plant life aboard began rapidly changing the planet's surface to create suitable habitats. Researchers from various backgrounds set up an outpost near the crash site to study the vessel and uncover its unknown origins.[3]

The Jannimak first appeared in Game Update 7.8: Pursuit of Ruin, released on December 9, 2025, as part of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Legacy of the Sith,[4] the eighth digital expansion to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[5]
