At some point around 3622 BBY,[1] the research vessel known as the Jannimak mysteriously crashed[2] from an unknown origin[3] onto an unoccupied farmland on the planet Dantooine.[2] The crash caused the ship's systems to behave erratically, leading to the expansion of three of its biomes the ship was sustaining. As a result, the local area was flooded with flora and fauna, altering Dantooine's native environment.[3]
