- "I warned him not to, but my brother's childhood friend joined the rebels. When her squad needed a hot exit out of Tatooine, my brother helped them."
"And I'm guessing the Hutts found out. Not good."
"They've been holding it over us as blackmail, and now they're threatening to send it to the Imperials." - ―Jado Halcyr's sibling to Kay Vess
Jado Halcyr's sibling was a human engineer who resided on the desert planet Tatooine in 3 ABY.[2]. They had black hair, brown eyes and tan skin. Their brother, Jado Halcyr, was a fathier jockey rode in the Canto Cup, a fathier race that took place in the city Canto Bight on the planet Cantonica.[1] Prior to 3 ABY,[2] Halcyr helped his childhood friend and her rebel squad leave Tatooine. However members of the Hutt Cartel later came in possession of information which proved Halcyr assistance to the rebels and used it blackmail Halcyr into fixing fathier races for them.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess overheard the engineer complaining about the Hutts in the city Mos Eisley on Tatooine. Vess initially warned the engineer about bad mouthing the hutts before offering to help after learning of Halcyr's blackmail situation. She later sliced into a data terminal at the Hutt Cartel Outpost in the Great Chott salt flat region of Tatooine and erased their information Halcyr. When Vess returned with the good news, the engineer encouraged Vess to bet on Halcyr in his next race.[1]
