Ivor Drake was a Human female politician from the planet Kestos Minor who represented the Kwymar sector in the Galactic Senate of the Republic during the final years of the Clone Wars. A member of the Delegation of 2000, Drake was among the senators who openly opposed Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's consolidation of power and co-signed the Petition of 2000 during the last days of the Republic. Shortly after attending the funeral of Senator Padmé Amidala on Naboo, she was arrested by the newly formed Imperial Security Bureau on charges of conspiracy and treason.

Biography

A native of Kestos Minor, Ivor Drake rose to political prominence as the senator for the Kwymar sector in the Galactic Republic's senate. Throughout her career, she was regarded as a principled defender of liberty and a vocal critic of authoritarianism. As the Clone Wars consumed the galaxy, Drake became increasingly wary of the unchecked powers granted to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. By 19 BBY, she allied herself with like-minded senators—including Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Fang Zar—who formed the Delegation of 2000.[3] This group drafted and presented the Petition of 2000, a formal request urging the Chancellor to relinquish his emergency powers and restore democratic rule.[2]

The following months brought the collapse of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. After Palpatine declared himself Emperor and reorganized the Senate into a largely ceremonial body, Drake remained defiant. She traveled to Naboo to honor her late colleague and friend Padmé Amidala, joining other senators in the somber funeral procession through the streets of Theed.[1][4] However, her open association with the Delegation of 2000 marked her as an enemy of the new regime. Shortly after Amidala’s funeral, Drake was arrested along with sixty—two other senators—including Tanner Cadaman, Shea Sadashassa, Streamdrinker, Fang Zar, and Grebleips—by agents of the newly formed Imperial Security Bureau on charges of conspiracy and treason, accused of supporting the so-called Jedi Rebellion.[5][3]

Personality

Ivor Drake was known as principled, steadfast, and deeply committed to the ideals of the Republic. She placed loyalty to democracy and justice above personal safety, refusing to remain silent in the face of tyranny. Despite the danger of opposing Palpatine, Drake’s decision to join the Delegation of 2000 reflected her courage and willingness to act on her convictions. To her colleagues, she was respected as both compassionate and unyielding, a senator who stood firmly for the people she represented.[2][3]
