"Where are we going?"
"My quarters, I do a little wire sculpting in my spare time to relax."
―Ziara and Thrawn plan to go to her quarters[1]

Chiss Senior Cadet Irizi'ar'alani, core name "Ziara," resided within her quarters on the Chiss Ascendancy nation planet of Naporar during her time at the Taharim Academy. Inside the quarters, which were located above a dojo, the senior cadet built wire sculptures in her spare time to relax.[1] At some point between 39 and 37 BBY,[2] Ziara brought Cadet Thrawn to her quarters to study her wire sculptures before the two of them sparred in the dojo.[1]

Behind the scenes

The quarters appeared in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first volume of The Ascendancy Trilogy authored by Timothy Zahn.[1]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising
  2. In Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, Thrawn joined the Mitth family and was admitted into Taharim Academy around the year 39 BBY per the reasoning here. The book also establishes that Thrawn spent 2 years at the academy, meaning he graduated around the year 37 BBY. As Ziara and Thrawn visited her quarters while Thrawn was a cadet, they must have visited the quarters between those two years.
