Senior Cadet was a military rank. It held by older cadets in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet's Taharim Academy on the Unknown Regions Chiss Ascendancy nation planet of Naporar,[1] as well as by cadets at the Carida Military academy.[2] Senior cadets' duties included instructing and guiding younger cadets at the academy.[1] Around 255 BBY[3] the human Wilson and Selkath Lalutin held the rank of senior cadet at the Carida military academy. The two cadets used their seniority to abuse the first-year cadet Lourna Dee.[2] Between approximately 39 BBY and 37 BBY,[4] Irizi'ar'alani, core name "Ziara," was a senior cadet, a rank she achieved no more than four years into her tenure at Taharim Academy.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the rank of Senior Cadet appeared in the flashbacks of the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the rank of Senior Cadet first appeared in Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a 2003 video game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts.[5]
