The Iotrans were a species[1] from the Iotra system.[2] When Merei Spanjaf and Jix Hekyl tried to smuggle a pulse-mag into a data center on Lothal, they encountered a hulking, bald example of this species with a blaster who warned them that they'd be "two smoking spots" if they took another step.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Iotra system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Iotran species.
