The Initiate Trials, also known as the Jedi Initiate Trial,[2] or the Jedi Tournament,[3] were a series of tests that Jedi younglings of the Jedi Order were given as prerequisite in order to progress to the level of Padawan. Following the successful completion of those trials, an Initiate would get to be chosen as Padawan by a Jedi Master or a Jedi Knight.[1] To gain the attention of a potential master, students participated in the annual tournament at the Jedi Temple so that they could demonstrate their aptitude in the Force.[4]
