Imperial Mobile Surgical Units, or IMSUs, were the prefabricated medical centers utilized by the Imperial Army. They were the latest incarnation of Republic Mobile Surgical Units used during the Clone Wars. These collapsible shelters served as a combination of a doctor's office and an operating room for Imperial medics and droids.[2] During the Mimban Campaign, IMSUs could be found at the Galactic Empire's base of operations, Camp Forward.[1]

Behind the scenes

Imperial Mobile Surgical Units first appeared in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story[3] and were first identified as such in the accompanying reference book Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Imperial Mobile Surgical Units were first mentioned in the Michael Reaves and Steve Perry's 2007 novel Death Star.[4]
