Ice rats were a type of rodent that were hunted and eaten by wampas,[1] a species of predator native to the ice planet Hoth.[2]
Behind the scenes
Ice rats were first mentioned in Star Wars Workbook: 3rd Grade Math, a 2017 workbook written by Claire Piddock and Megan Butler. The creatures are mentioned as part of a hypothetical math problem in which a wampa captures twelve ice rats and sixteen snow lizards and distributes them evenly amongst seven other wampas.[1]
