Ice melons were a type of melon grown on vine-laden terraces on the agriworld Hetzal Prime, an Outer Rim planet.[1] In 232 BBY,[2] they were in season at the same time as two other fruits—kingberries and honeyfruit.[1] That year,[2] the Hetzal system's minister—Zeffren Ecka—looked out the window of his office, watching harvester droids at work picking honeyfruit, kingberries, and ice melons, mentally noting that something else would be in season by the next month.[1]

Ice melons appeared in Light of the Jedi, a 2021 novel written by Charles Soule as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I.[3]
