- "What… is that?"
"It… looks like a probe droid?" - ―Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren
ID9 seeker droids,[2] also called Parrot Droids,[6] Mimic Droids,[7] or ID9 Electro Shock-Prods,[8] were a model of seeker droids that resembled the Viper probe droids[2] manufactured by Arakyd Industries.[1] The body of ID9 seekers consisted in a half-hemisphere dome with a red photoreceptor.[2] Attached to that dome were five articulated, tentacle-like limbs that ended in pincers.[4] The ID9s had a large red sensor to monitor and track targets and could record audio.[9] They were outfitted with electro-shock prods that allowed them to harm organic lifeforms and incapacitate mechanical beings[2] in addition to the blaster built into the center of their photoreceptor.[5] They were capable of imitating the sounds of other droid models, and had two locomotions modes: hovering and crawling.[2] The Seventh Sister, a member of the Galactic Empire's Inquisitorius, employed a small army of such seekers in her efforts to capture Jedi and insurgents.[4] The successor of the ID9, the ID10 seeker droid, was used by Inferno Squad.[10]
