Hydroponic shells were a type of shell that were found around prestigious agri-industrial worlds such as Fengrine. The common image of armchair farming in such shells was far removed from the moisture farming that occurred on the searing desert planet Tatooine[1] in 22 BBY.[2]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, hydroponic shells was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles. It was part of material reprinted[3] from the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections, which was written by Curtis Saxton and marked the shell's first mention in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[4]
