A Hutta snake was a common type of snake that partially shared its name with the planet Nal Hutta. The Hutt Churo studied the skin-shedding habits of Hutta snakes.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] when Churo's sister Dahara Devirsivik Norri brought him to their family's hangar on Nal Hutta, Churo saw Dahara's new starship, the Viperi-class cargo shuttle Sarlacc's Scorn, and mentally noted the shape of its cockpit reminded him of the head of a Hutta snake. Later, while Churo was trying to repair a comm tower on the planet Palagosal, he wished that machines were as easy as studying the skin-shedding habits of Hutta snakes.[1]

As The High Republic: Beware the Nameless takes place one and a half years after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY.
