"Son, if one hostage is good, two are better, and three, well, that's just good business!"
―Hondo Ohnaka, quoting his mother — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[2]

Hondo Ohnaka's mother was a female pirate that sold her son into slavery.

Biography

She lived on Sriluur during Hondo's childhood. She and her husband were poor swindlers and they sold Hondo as a slave to "honor" the Weequay god Quay.[3]

Somehow, Hondo Ohnaka still held his mother in high regard and quoted her on occasion. Based on this salute to her, she was deceased by the time his gang kidnapped Count Dooku and the Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.[2]
