- "The planet is in a state of near-perpetual dark, only gathering light from a distant sun for about one hour per monthly cycle."
- ―Mace Windu, on Hissrich
A yellow sun was located in the Outer Rim Territories. The sun was orbited by the planet Hissrich, which was distantly located from the star and only exposed to its sunlight once a month for one hour.
Description
The sun was yellow[3] and situated in the Outer Rim Territories[1] within grid square R-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[2] It was orbited by the jungle planet Hissrich, which was orbited by at least 28 moons. Hissrich was distantly located from its star and only exposed to sunlight once a month for one hour.[1]
History
- "The plant life here gets roughly an hour of sunlight a month. Think of all the energy they have to store in that small period of time to life off of. These planets are brimming with power."
- ―Mace Windu deducing the Separatists' goal
By 22 BBY, during the early days of the Clone Wars,[4] the Confederacy of Independent Systems established an operation on Hissrich[5] to employ droids to harvest the energy stored by the planet's plants from the hour's worth of sunlight a month.[3] The Jedi Order sent Jedi Master Mace Windu, accompanied by a small unit, to the planet to determine the purpose of the Confederacy's activity on the planet.[1]
Windu's squad—which included fellow Masters Kit Fisto and Prosset Dibs and Jedi Knight Rissa Mano—arrived on Hissrich and eventually engaged with the droid army stationed on the planet inside the Subterranean Caves. During the battle, the hour of sunlight began on the planet's surface.[3]
