Hesperidium was one of the four moons of the galactic capital planet of Coruscant,[3] located in the Core Worlds' Coruscant system. It was situated within the Coruscant subsector of the Corusca sector,[1] located at the coordinates L-9[2] on the Standard Galactic Grid.[5] It shared its name with Hesperidium straight, a section of the Dragonfire Circuit airspeeder race course on Coruscant.[6]

At one point a lifeless rock,[4] around 19 BBY[7] it had been terraformed into a resort and patchwork nature reserve by rich Coruscant residents. It contained parks that simulated a dozen biomes, mountains cultivated for climbing, and violet-colored oceans navigated by massive yachts.[4]

Behind the scenes

In the new Star Wars canon, Hesperidium was mentioned in the twenty-sixth issue of the magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon, released in 2015.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Hesperidium first appeared in the 1997 novel Planet of Twilight, written by Barbara Hambly.[8]

PenguinRandomHouse-Logo Star Wars: Edge of the Abyss on Penguin Books' official United Kingdom website (backup link) establishes the events of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear take place thirteen years before the events of Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss. Instagram-Logo Rebecca Roanhorse (@rebeccaroanhorse) on Instagram (post): "Title and updated release date of my upcoming STAR WARS novel announced at SDCC. THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS takes place a year before Andor S1." (backup link) states that Edge of the Abyss takes place a year before the events of Andor Season 1, which are set in 5 BBY per the reasoning here. Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY.
