Gy'lan was a type of spice. Early in their smuggling careers, Talon Karrde and Ellor were transporting a load of Gy'lan spice when an Imperial Interdictor attempted to intercept them. Karrde piloted their freighter in a series of evasive maneuvers and managed to escape by initiating a microjump into hyperspace.[1]
