Guds was the word used by the Gungans, an amphibious species from Naboo, to refer to their deities. The Gungan custom of life debt was thought to have been decreed by the guds.[1] In 32 BBY,[2] Qui-Gon Jinn used the concept of a life debt to free Jar Jar Binks from punishment, instead convincing Boss Nass to allow Binks to be set free to fulfill this sacred duty.[1]
