Grove Guardians

The Grove Guardians was a made-up organization that supposedly guarded groves on Hon-Tallos. During the High Republic Era, the guardians were invented by Nihil member Deva Lompop in order to teach Ghenli a lesson about bullying Vroma. Ghenli had been bullying Vroma because he believed she had been taking the durga berry from the groves. Lompop had offered to help Vroma put an end to Ghenli's actions. The two traveled to the groves to put the plan into motion.^[1]

At the groves, Ghenli and his friends confronted Vroma about stealing another berry, but Vroma told him the Grove Guardians would not be happy. Ghenli did not believe in the guardians and chased Vroma throughout the grove. During the chase, Ghenli's friends were picked off until he wondered where they went. Vroma said she tried to warn him but now the Grove Guardians were angry. A large figure appeared from the forest named the "Guardian of the Groves." The figure grabbed Ghenli and opened its big mouth to reveal its sharp teeth. Ghenli promised to never steal from Vroma again and ran off. Lompop then closed her mouth and left the groves with Vroma.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The Grove Guardians were mentioned in "Tales of Villainy: A Very Nihil Interlude" the backstory of the fourteenth and final issue of the 2020 Star Wars Adventures anthology Star Wars comic book series. The comic story was written by Justina Ireland, illustrated by Nick Brokenshire and published by IDW Publishing^[1] on February 9, 2022^[2]
