The Grek-class troop shuttle was a class of troop transport shuttle named after the seventh letter of the Aurebesh script, Grek. The namesake was due to the shuttle physically resembling the character, rather than being the seventh starship in a series. EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigates,[1] used by both the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic,[2] commonly carried the Grek-class.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Grek-class troop shuttle was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the forty-eighth issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine series, published by De Agostini[1] around December 2, 2015.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Grek-class troop shuttle was first mentioned in Pirates & Privateers, a 1997 supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game authored by Timothy S. O'Brien and published by West End Games.[4]
