"The Jedi is there."
Klothow, after the Great Mothers used the orbs to track Ahsoka Tano[5]

The Great Mothers' orbs[6] were a set of three orbs owned by the Great Mothers, three Nightsister witches who lived on Peridea.[2] Using their magick, they were able to use the orbs to glimpse threads of the future and destiny.[6]

In 9 ABY,[7] the Great Mothers used the orbs after meeting Morgan Elsbeth's forces, and their prisoner Sabine Wren. The orbs shot red[2] energy threads[4] capable of binding Wren's arms to her sides.[2] Later, Grand Admiral Thrawn requested the Mothers track Ahsoka Tano, and the orbs were able to triangulate her position.[5]

Behind the scenes

"These are from the witch mothers. This is like before the Jedi, even. It's early, early magic. We really made these very ornate. We did real metal plating in here. We wanted to make it feel like it's an artifact. Like, 'Where did this come from?'"
Josh Roth[1]

The Great Mothers' orbs first appeared in the Star Wars: Ahsoka episode "Part Six: Far, Far Away."[2]
