Gray Leader was the callsign attributed to the lead pilot of the Rebel Alliance's Gray Squadron. During the Galactic Civil War, Horton Salm served as Gray Leader during the Battle of Endor, flying a BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter.[1]

Gray Leader first appeared in the Star Wars saga film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, screenwriter Gary Whitta was to have a cameo as the X-wing pilot Gray Leader, although the scene was ultimately cut.[2]
