Grade III battle stations were active around the time of the Clone Wars,[1] fought from 22 BBY to 19 BBY[2] between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems. The battle station reached ten kilometers (6.2 miles) in width and was equipped with a deflector shield generator. Munificent-class star frigates maintained enough firepower from their heavy turbolasers to penetrate a Grade III battle station's deflector shields.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Grade III battle station was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Grade III battle station received its introduction in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections, a 2005 reference book authored by Curtis Saxton.[4] The 2018 release of Complete Vehicles serves as a nearly identical reprint of Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections.[3]
